Job Title: SEO Manager (Maternity Cover – 12 Months)

About the Role:
We are seeking a proactive and experienced SEO Manager to join our marketing agency on a 12-month maternity cover basis. There may be the possibility of this role being part-time ( eg 4 days a week or reduced working hours that suit someone who wants to work around school hours etc).
You will be responsible for managing and executing SEO strategies across a range of client accounts, ensuring excellent performance and visibility across search engines.
This is a hands-on role, perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced agency environment and enjoys working across all areas of SEO.
Key Responsibilities:
● Develop and implement end-to-end SEO strategies across technical SEO, on-page,off-page, and content.
● Plan and manage monthly SEO activity for retainer clients, aligned to business and performance goals.
● Conduct technical SEO audits and work with developers to implement fixes and improvements, ensuring websites are optimised for maximum visibility, performance,and user experience.
● Carry out keyword research, search intent analysis and competitor research to identify growth opportunities.
● Optimise website content, structure, internal linking and metadata to improve organic visibility.
● Optimise for AI-driven search and LLM platforms (e.g. ChatGPT and LLMs).
● Oversee SEO for website launches and migrations, ensuring minimal disruption to traffic and rankings.
● Monitor, analyse, and report on SEO performance using analytics and reporting tools, translating data into clear insights and actions.
● Collaborate with account managers, clients, and internal web and content teams to deliver SEO recommendations.
● Stay up to date with algorithm changes, emerging SEO trends, automation tools, and evolving search behaviour.
Requirements:
● Proven experience in SEO, ideally within an agency environment.
● Working knowledge of all aspects of SEO, including technical, on-page, off-page, content, and AI-driven search.
● Experience with SEO tools such as Google Analytics, Search Console, Bing Webmaster Tools, SE Ranking, Screaming Frog, or similar.
● Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
● Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
● Experience creating performance reports and insights - Looker Studio, or similar
